The ASTRO-1 Laser Pointer Bracket allows for quick aim at targets without sacrificing comfort. The bracket features a precision T-style dovetail that mates with all three (3) base plates, and maintains alignment when re-attached - a quick-release system for easy removal and re-installation. Practical anti-error features are included for operation in dark locations.
1] Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes (Reflectors)
The base is a drop-in replacement for the stock finder bracket, and can be held in with the original screws, or those provided. This base plate features a wide base to span more space on reflectors. With a radius-cut of 9.25?, the base fits securely on any standard reflector. Pre-existing holes with center-to-center spacing of 1.0? to 2.1? may be used to mount the base using two (2) screws; or four (4) screws with 1.75? center-to-center spacing may be used. Mounting hardware (8-32 screws/nuts) included. ASTRO-1 bracket holds lasers up to 23mm OD.
2] Newtonians (Refractors)
This reflector adapter features a small base which takes up less space on refractors. With a radius-cut of 1.75?, the base fits snugly and is mounted with industrial-strength double-sided tape (included). ASTRO-1 bracket holds lasers up to 23mm OD.
3] Tripod (Base Plate)
The tripod base plate is threaded on the bottom to accept standard 1/4-20 tripod threads. The bottom is flat and is 1? by 1.5?, made to be large and sturdy to fit on almost all tripods. Features grooves to fit the small alignment pins some tripod heads have near the 1/4-20 thread. ASTRO-1 bracket holds lasers up to 23mm OD.
