Ruggedized Green Laser Pointer for Birding and Bird Watching
Problem: Sharing Bird Location
How to quickly share the location of birds in shaded rain forests? Or help other birders to look in the right direction and get on a bird faster? If employing a green laser for this task, what power output is the best - what power output is bright enough AND safe for users and wildlife, but won't "spook" the birds if pointed too close to them? Is the laser moisture and water resistant, able to handle the damp, humid environments of South America, Africa, or Asia? Long battery life? Neck Lanyard?
The Z-Bolt® Bird-SPOT is built for extreme duty. Tested & certified for bird and human eye safety; water proof for operation in rain forests - rain, dew, & moisture resistant. The laser diode and battery compartment are protected by double o-ring seals; circuit board is encased (epoxy resin) in a protective collar to prevent damage by vibration, accidental dropping, etc. Water & dust proof; shock & vibration resistant; rugged & reliable. The Bird-Spot is constructed of high quality anodized aluminum and includes an IR filter and glass lens for superior laser performance. Ships with Nylon Lanyard; Power Certification Card; 2 pcs CR123A batteries.
Z-Bolt® Certified - Power Output Cards
The Bird-SPOT features guaranteed Z-Bolt® Certified Power for the brightest possible daylight dot; most visible nighttime beam. Each Z-Bolt® Certified Power green laser pointer is factory tuned & calibrated, then tested & certified on a laser power meter. These Certified Power units are rated at 4.0 to 5.0 mW power output and are 2 to 3 times brighter than standard Class IIIa units - all ship with our exclusive Laser Power Output Certificates.
Special APC Circuit and IR Filter for Human AND Wildlife Eye Safety
The Bird-SPOT includes our special APC control circuit and includes an IR filter for human and wildlife eye safety
. This computerized APC diode drive circuit features "Automatic Power Control". The advanced circuit is based on a photo diode feedback loop. The photo diode monitors the optical output and provides a control signal for the laser diode, helping to maintain the diode operation at a constant optical output level. The circuit adds to the lifetime of the laser, prevents overheating, and provides overall power output stability & efficiency.
